Cupcakes, Candy, Croup, Cuddling, Conference

This is what our weekend was made up of. So what's Easter without candy! and cupcakes! My sister in law J with help from H made these little beauties! We have sheep, flowers, bunnies, chicks in eggs, and a bunch more random candy mixtures. I don't have to tell you that they were delicious. On Sat. we decorated eggs, twice. Once at home and once at Grandma and Grandpa's. The kids loved it, even though G is still a little young to help. He just likes to squeeze the egg or throw it in the dye. H mostly wanted pink eggs with stickers. She didn't like the idea of putting the egg in multiple colors-although she did like the way they turned out in the end.
G mostly just ate candy. Like this little blue one. Speaking of G, he was sick this weekend. I think it might have been croup but I don't know. All I know is if he would cry he couldn't breathe so well. It was so sad. He cried a lot which is not like him AT ALL. There are days when he doesn't cry at all so crying and not sleeping made for a sleepy and sad weekend for all of us.
He still managed to muster up some smiles however. He is doing better although I think he might be a little more mommy attached that he used to be. He frequently yells out Mama, if he doesn't see me.
We also did an Easter Egg hunt at the in-laws.
H collected so many eggs which was so exciting for her.
Then on both Sat. and Sunday we watched General Conference. We cuddled a lot and tried to stay awake after a few nights of no sleep because of G. I did better at the staying awake thing than P did!
Then for Easter dinner we joined family for ham, twice baked potatoes, rolls, homemade mac and cheese, green beans, and a delicious double chocolate cake. We really tried to teach the kids about why we celebrate Easter. We read the story of the resurrection from the scriptures and tried to teach H based on what she already knew. We will definitely keep the tradition of reading from the scriptures just like we do on Christmas. It's a hard concept to grasp but I think H is starting to understand which is neat to see.
Happy Easter and my your spring be sunnier and warmer than ours is right now!!
