Seattle and Pogo

We recently returned from a trip to Seattle to visit my Mom and a few friends. It was a crazy week, but not exactly in the way my weeks are usually crazy. H woke up Monday morning, the day we were to go to Seattle, with a runny nose and cough. Little did I know that was just the beginning. On the airplane, H yells, "Mommy, why can't I hear anything?" Poor little plugged up girl. On Tuesday, G's nose starts running and he starts acting sick. So we start cancelling plans with the people I had already made plans with there. On Wednesday, I wake up with a stomach ache, oh and did I mention my children did not sleep past 5:30 a.m. any morning we were there, back to me. After a few minutes of being awake I start throwing up and my mom takes the snotty, literally, kids. I am out for the rest of the day. That night G sleeps about 5 hours total and mostly only after my Mom fed him a popsicle at 2 in the morning, fearing that maybe his throat hurt from his cold and all his crying. Thur. we spend the morning finding a clinic to take G to that won't cost me all the money in the bank (still spent $98! with a cash discount!) G has a double ear infection. When we go to get his prescription they don't have it and they spend the next few hours calling pharmacy's in the area to get it. Friday, I wake up with the cold but push through for our last day there. Saturday, we are all sick but glad we came and loved all the help from Grandma!

So what did we do while we were stuck in the house? Played with my Mom's new dog Pogo!

The kids love this little dog, and I think he loved them as well. G would wake by Pogo and get jumped on and licked but he would just keep on walking even though him and the dog were about the same height when Pogo stood on his back legs.
We really did have a fun time in Seattle and I look forward to going again. That is if my Mom and her husband can handle our craziness!
If the kids were on the floor, watch out because here come Pogo. If you enlarge this picture you can see how pathetic poor G looks with his cold.
Then my mom got out this massager and bench and G loved it. He loved to get massaged and then he climbed on the bench to take a little rest. He would walk over to the pillow and lay down and wait for his massage. Even the next day, he found the pillow and pulled it out and laid on it. Funny little guy!
So that's our little trip. We are all doing better now after a week of being home. H got over the cold shortly after we returned but I got worse. I went to the Doctor this week for an eye infection caused by the cold but G seems to be almost over the cold. The snoring and coughing from the kids room is almost gone! May the New Year bring us health!!

Ohh, poor you! I'm sorry everyone was so sick. But I'm glad you all had fun. What a cute doggie! And what super cute kids!

So sad for a trip...but at least you had help. I can't believe how sick everyone seems this year! Hopefully it goes away soon!

Ugghh! Not ideal, at least you had your mom to help you out. :) She looks great by the way. You deserve a long break from sickness after that one!

Sounds like a miserable trip! It always feels like we get sick when we travel...I think its the recycled airplane air! At least you had your mom there! Sounds like she was a lifesaver!
