All aboard the Polar Express. So the railroad near our house does a Polar Express event at Christmastime. The children get to dress in their jammies and ride the train to the North Pole. Well to a pole where Santa is. Then he climbs on board and visits with the children.
P took H with our close friends last night and H couldn't have been happier about it. When she got home she was just beaming. She loves the movie and we watch it almost daily around Christmas. As soon as it come on TV we record it and she watches it every day. She knows all the words to all the songs and is so cute singing them. So, needless to say, this was a very exciting activity for her.
They got cookies, hot chocolate, a conductor punched the tickets, elves made a list of the things they wanted for Christmas, they read the story of the Polar Express and sang Christmas songs, all while riding the train.
H asked Santa for a swingset...for our next house! Our backyard is actually so small a swingset wouldn't fit back there so we keep telling her that she can get one for the next house. P decided that maybe she should wait to ask for that so he suggested she ask for something we already bought her. At least that will be showing up for sure on Christmas!
H loved the elves and had to know all their names. I am so glad she got to do this fun things and have these special memories with her daddy. It may have to be a yearly occurrence.
