Always Changing

If there was one thing I was absolutely not prepared for before having a child it is how often they change. Not in size or even their abilities but in everything especially routines. I remember from the time H was small thinking that she was set in a routine whether it be eating or sleeping and then before I knew it that routine was completely different. Even know at 2 1/2 I think things like I've got a set bedtime for her and then one night she stops going to sleep at that time, or stops napping as long or naps too long, and we have to start all over again. It really keeps you on your toes and you realize that these first few years are really just one big experiment that I hope every day I am adding the right ingredients and giving the right amount of what she needs. So for all you future parents out there never think you have your child figured out because they will surprise you before you can even finish the thought! It is truly an adventure that I am so glad I get to continue on with and see where it goes!
