Short hair...sigh

Yesterday I took H in for her first haircut.  She was a little nervous of the water squirter-notice her tight grip on the chair.
She liked it though and was able to relax a little.
Then for the hair cut...I said I wanted to keep it long but just take a little off so that her curls would spring up a little more.  I thought the weight of her hair was making her curls straighter and harder to manage.  We also talked about added some layers to give some more curl to her hair.
She only took a 1/2 inch of the back but for some reason she took a whole lot more than that off the rest of her hair!!
It ended up looking like the way it looked when she was little- short in the front and long in the back!  It was a curly mullet again which is not a look I desire for my sweet daughter.  I was so frustrated with myself for letting her do this to her hair.  I may have even cried a little because I ruined my daughters beautiful hair and now it was a mullet and looked horrible.  So I did what any psycho parent would do and called the salon to get it fixed.  She had to take a few inches off the back in order to even it out.  So what was supposed to be a trim became much more that that.  I still miss her long hair but I succeeded in making her hair spring up.  It is still cute but I miss her long hair that I waited so long for.

Here is the before (not right before but in the last few weeks):
And here is the after:

I do think it makes her face look cute and babyish again which I was missing as she was getting older.   She seems to like it fine-she doesn't care as long as I don't try and do too much to it.  It will be easier to put in pig tails and will get a lot less tangly so that is positive but it will be while before I take her to get another haircut!

I am sad all her hair is gone too, But I do agree it is cute and you will get to do some cute things with it. I love all those curls!

She looks beautiful both ways - but I agree does make her look younger again. I was growing Acadia's hair out but it was getting too much for the both of us so I just cute hers too. Takes a bit getting used to.

She looks darling (however she is so cute I don't think a mohawk would make her any less cute). My kids still pretend to play with H. all of the time and ask for her to come back or for us to go to her house. We will have to plan a trip soon.

That short hair is so cute! I just love it. I think it shows of her personality. Can't wait to see you guys in April. I guess it will have to be sooner rather that later just in case you head of to, of all places, NY for your summer internship.
