Baby Update

I had another Dr. appt and ultrasound today (the 6th of this pregnancy!) and it showed that although there is still a little fluid in the kidneys the baby seems to be doing well. He even has a good amount of hair on his head!! Amazing that they can tell that! However, he is breech at this point. I am almost 35 weeks and if they are going to do the turning method it will probably be around 37 weeks (assuming he doesn't turn on his own)-and I would probably be induced right after or have a c-section if the baby goes into distress. Anyone have experience coaxing a breech baby to go head down so I can avoid the painful and possibly not successful turning method by the doctor? I am also measuring big which is always fun to hear!! I am getting really anxious to meet this little guy and I can't wait to hold him, regardless of how he comes out! Any breech advice for me?

I had a friend who they tried to turn the baby and she blacked out and the baby started stressing, so she had a c-section. Me personally??? I would rather just have the c-section. Think SOUTH!!

One of my friends baby's was breech and so they turned it. Apparently the baby was very determined that the previous way was the way it needed to be, so it just turned back around. I would just pray really hard that he'll get the idea and naturally know which way to face before you have to make any decisions. (Obviously this is not advice as I'm sure you are already doing this) Sorry I don't have any real advice. Good luck. We'll keep you in our prayers. Fun that he has lots of hair. I can't wait for pictures!!

I know someone who went atv riding at eight months pregnant to try and get the baby turned. It worked...but I don't think it's for everyone. I could have just been coincidence as well! Glad all is well with him.

My last baby turned on his own between 36 and 37 weeks. I ended up having an emergency csection anyway because of cord prolapse, but I told the dr previous that I would rather just schedule a csection than try to turn baby. One of my friends looked up homeopathic ways of turning baby and she said to go in a pool so I did that for a while. Funny thing is that I didn't even know that baby had turned until the dr told me! And, my #2 had excess fluid in his kidneys and it just ended up that he had big kidneys (after having two ultrasounds and a cathedar with dye placed to make sure things weren't backing up) at 2 months old. Maybe we just had amazing coincidences, so here's to hoping that you have some too.

I don't know any tricks for turning a baby who is breech... though I successfully turned a baby who was "sunnyside up" (AKA occiput posterior or face up). I'm sure everything will work out - we want to see some belly shots of you before this little guy comes!

Don't opt for a C-section. Try the inversion. c-sections are miserable. I had a friend go to the chiropractor and they turned the baby.
