Ok so every day I have a kind of parenting revelation and I thought, "why not share this with friends and family?" So here is my thought for the day. G is high energy. I know he is a boy, and I know boys are active, and blah blah blah, but despite that he is High Energy! So I have been working hard on him sitting reverently-ish in church. I read a lot of ideas online and I came across a bunch of cute ideas and it had a place for people to make comments. In the comments there were multiple people who said that children should not be given distractions like books and such during church and that children should LEARN to sit quietly. Well fast forward to today, I watched my cute little guy looking at his Oriental Trading magazine during church and I wondered what those people would think about that! Ha! Anyways, to my parenting thought... he didn't look up from the magazine but he started talking about Jesus (exactly what the speaker was talking about). He was listening. Should I mention that what he said was that if he were Jesus he would have kicked those people that were whipping him... But regardless, He was LISTENING! So here is what I think, i don't think every child in church should have a magazine, but for those that are like my little guy, maybe it is just what they need to listen in church. It's different for every child, but as long as I care more about my child, and less about what others will think of me, it will all work out in the end.

SO TRUE!! With Cami being similar, I find that she is ALWAYS listening. Keeping those tiny hands busy is what helps her listen more! You are a TERRIFFIC mommy Suzanne! I dont agree that kids should have to learn to sit quietly at that age. Well, I do.. but not with NOTHING to do. Our high energies would go crazy! haha :)
