Happy July 1st! We have one more month in NY before heading back home. So here is what we will be doing in that one month. H starts early morning swimming lessons in an outdoor pool and I fear she may endure hypothermia! That is for two weeks and hopefully the fun will be more memorable than the cold.
In less than two weeks we are being kicked out of our current house we are renting (because our Landlord decided that he wanted to live here and fix the place up before the next tenant moves in-maybe he could have fixed the place up before WE moved in! Originally he said we could live here until the 26th-now it's the 15th) So we will then move a few streets over to a duplex that is actually bigger than this house. The new Landlords are SO nice and are willing to rent to us for a fraction of what they normally charge-probably because we are so pitiful with our two kids, no money, and crazy Landlord who our new landlords know well. They know our landlord because he will be the one renting the space we will be in after we leave here for the horse track season which is 6 weeks long. But wait, should you think, "oh, that's not too bad that you have to move once," did I mention that our current Landlord can't wait until we leave the state before he moves in the new house we will be in so he will then be kicking us out of that house 4 days before we leave here so he can live there. So then we will be homeless...well luckily we have really great friends that many have offered there homes to our crazy little family...before we take off with P's fantastic parents who are flying out to help us drive our second car home(we are so excited to see them and SO grateful for their help!!)
So in the middle of all that we have plans to go to NYC and continue to see all the friends and do all the fun stuff that we will miss when we are gone.
So an update on the little ones-G is teething and tantruming! He now has his 5th tooth and he loves to arch his back when I try and put him in his carseat or move him from a potential harmful situation. But he also still charms the ladies in the stores with his big smile, loves having his picture taken and loves his sister. He just follows her around the house which drives her crazy. He can climb up the entire staircase, although we don't let him, let go of things and stand for a few seconds, and has a knack for finding trouble in the house. From what I understand, his daddy may have been one to find trouble as well!
H recently recieved two new dresses as a gift and she loves them. Especially the seashells one-she wants to wear it everytime it is clean. Although it is a little chilly to not have another shirt under it, it looks cute both ways. She is excited about swim lessons and preschool in the fall. She is a social butterfly and loves making new friends wherever she goes. Although she is still a little timid of strangers, which I actually think is great.
She is understanding all the moving in a remarkably mature way and she loves wherever she is living and all the friends she has everywhere she is.
As for P, he loves his job here and is learning a ton! He works with great people and they give his things to do that help him to really understand the world of patent law. He found out yesterday that he made Law review (which is a prestigious journal every law school has that only a few students make) so hooray for Peter! He is already starting to work on his resume to apply for jobs for new summer and they will start having interviews for those jobs on the first day back in school in August! So hopefully by October we will know where we will be heading next summer.
As for me, I am trying to roll with the punches as well as the rest of the family. I am already getting sad to leave friends here, but looking forward to being back by friends and our stuff back home. I just wish I could bring some people from here with me there and then it would be perfect! I keep busy finding morning and afternoon activities for the kids to get them out of the house and in places they can have more fun. I really enjoy living so close to town and going on daily walks-when it isn't thunderstorming!!
So that's our update! I hope July finds everyone well!
Any good craft ideas for a 3 year old? I need some inspiration to keep her busy!

I can't believe it is July already... AC Moore has free crafts Wednesdays from 3-5, we are going to try it out today.
I am so excited only 4 more weeks!!! I know the last couple are going to be hard for you so I promise to have a nice meal waiting for you when you get home.
I have tons of ideas if you want-most are from work at the Crayola Factory of course. You could fingerpaint (using washable finger paint or pudding etc), paint (crayola has washable paints and big brushes), for no messs fun crayola has color wonder finger paints, watercolors, coloring books and markers etc, or you can just hand her some coloring pages, make a puppet with a paper lunch sac and any paper scraps and markers etc, play with shaving cream on the table/counter...draw pictures in it, make "mountains" etc, make your own playdough and play with it...recipes online-even edible, and more....hope this helps. Oh, and sidewalk chalk is fun too. Wish we were a little closer to you and could come "play". Any questions, let me know! :) love, Emily
I'm so impressed you blogged so early in the morning! This summer has gone by so fast so far, and yet it hasn't really been that summery!
G is getting so big! They change so much at this age! Wow- I can't believe your landlord is doing that. That's annoying! We're excited to see you soon.
We went down to UT for the 4th and I thought...we should see the Laws, but I remembered you were still gone. Maybe next time. It seems like you have had a fun busy advendture.
